Your involvement as a volunteer is welcomed and appreciated! We are recruiting ushers to serve at the 2008 Women’s Convention. The following is a list of benefits and requirements for serving as an usher. After reviewing these items, if you would like to become involved, please contact us at volunteer@joycemeyer.org or call 1-800-707-7877 ext. 3516.
Benefits
- Each volunteer will be given two reserved seats for each session—one for you and one for another registered female guest.
- Each volunteer will receive a $60 gift certificate to purchase Joyce Meyer Ministries resources before leaving the convention.
Requirements
- You must be registered for the convention before you can sign up as a volunteer (unless you served as a volunteer at our 2007 Women’s Convention).
- All volunteers must serve at all five sessions.
- All volunteers must attend the training session on Thursday, October 2, 2008, from 10 am until noon.
- You must be in position to volunteer three hours before each session. Breaks for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided throughout the convention. Concession stands will be open for you during this time. Meals may be purchased at your expense.
- You will be released Saturday following the afternoon session. Please keep this in mind when making your travel arrangements as we will need you to stay until this time.
- All volunteers must be willing and able to serve wherever they are needed and positioned. We apologize for not being able to accommodate requests for specific locations to serve.
- All volunteers must be able to be on their feet, do a lot of walking and climb stairs. Responsibilities will include assisting people with seating, collecting the offerings, and passing out any handouts or brochures during the sessions.
- The dress code is business casual.
- All volunteers are responsible for their own travel, food, and lodging expenses.
- All volunteers must be at least sixteen years old in order to serve.
- To avoid interference with your volunteer duties, we ask you not to bring children who need adult supervision.
