Local Charity Receives Needed Transportation

ST. LOUIS (4/4/06)Joyce Meyer Ministries recently donated a 2005 Ford E350 Club Wagon XLT 12-passenger van to the Angels’ Arms organization. The van was presented as a surprise at the Fifth Annual Fenton Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday, April 1.

Angels’ Arms' mission is to provide a loving home for foster children by keeping brothers and sisters together within a nurturing family until a home is found. Recently, they opened a new home in the Ballwin area and have cared for over 40 foster children since the organization’s beginning over five years ago. They receive no state or federal funding and are dependent on private donations.

“Angels’ Arms is a very unique organization which provides a valuable service to the children of our community. When it came to our attention that with the opening of their newest home they also had a transportation need, we knew that we wanted to do something for them. We are so pleased to assist a wonderful organization like Angels’ Arms,” said Joyce Meyer.

Each year the Fenton Community Charitable Association chooses one charity and holds the Fenton Mayor’s Ball in their honor. All the proceeds raised from the ball are donated to the selected charity. This year, in addition to the van, the Fenton community raised over $15,000 for Angels’ Arms.
