Fill a Semitruck for Hurricane Victims

ST. LOUIS (9/06/05) — Currently the biggest problem facing those who are collecting donations is being able to transport them into the hands of the needy.

Joyce Meyer Ministries, the St. Louis Dream Center and WIL 92.3 will be collecting supplies in Dierberg's parking lots from   7am - 7pm on Wednesday, September 7; Thursday, September 8 and Friday, September 9. With the generosity of the public, we aim to fill one semitruck each day with the following supplies:

Hygiene:

  • Hairbrushes
  • Deoderant
  • Diapers
  • Feminine products
  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Toilet paper
  • Toothbrushes & toothpaste
  • Wet wipes
  • Other products

Survival:

  • Batteries
  • Radios
  • Plastic tarps
  • Generators
  • Can openers
  • Flashlights

Food & Water:

  • Baby food
  • Canned goods
  • Energy bars
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Water

The supplies collected will depart immediately for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the end of the day and will be distributed by a network of volunteers and churches upon arrival.

This local grassroots campaign, where we work with local churches to collect food and supplies and then immediately ship them to the affected areas for quick distribution, is the most effective means of relief.
